Entertainment City casino resort hotels in Manila are among hotels in the Philippine capital authorized from Saturday, October 16 to offer “stays” to guests 18 years of age or older, who are “fully vaccinated,” according to a statement. Thursday from the country’s Ministry of Tourism.

Casino activities in the capital are currently not permitted unless authorized by the country’s Covid-19 task force or President Rodrigo Duterte, according to a separate government statement.

Presidential spokesman Harry Roque’s secretary on Thursday told a press briefing that the National Capital Region’s Covid-19 countermeasures were downgraded to ‘alert level 3’ from ‘level alert 4 ”from Saturday until October 31st.

But he noted that at Level 3, casino operations were among a number of prohibited activities, along with “horse racing, cockfighting and the operation of cockpits, lottery shops and of betting and other gambling establishments “.

This applied, “unless authorized by the Interagency Working Group for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases or the Office of the President,” the statement added.

Among the hotels allowed to offer stays, there are properties in casinos, the tourism ministry said.

They include: Okada Manila Hotel at Okada Manila Casino Complex; the Solaire hotel at the Solaire Resort and Casino; the Nobu Hotel and the Nuwa Hotel in City of Dreams Manila; and the Sheraton Manila Hotel, the Hilton Manila, the Okura Manila Hotel and the Belmont Hotel Manila, at the Resorts World Manila Casino Resort (pictured).

In other developments, the interagency working group also revised, with effect from Thursday, the rules for foreigners arriving as air passengers from overseas.

Fully vaccinated foreign nationals will be allowed if they have tested “negative” for Covid-19, within 72 hours of departure from the country of origin.

On arrival, no facility-based quarantine will be required, but the passenger is required to monitor themselves for any symptoms of Covid-19, until the 14th day of stay.
