Saratoga Casino Hotel donates $ 110,000 – troyrecord
SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY – The Saratoga Casino Hotel recently celebrated ‘Give Tuesday’ by donating $ 110,000 to 11 Capital Region nonprofits at its ‘Make a Difference’ Holiday Luncheon .
The following organizations each received a donation of $ 10,000: The Donna M. Crandall Memorial Foundation, Franklin Community Center, Jake’s Help from Heaven, LifePath Supportive Services for Older Adults, The Joseph C. and Anne T. Palamountain Scholarship Fund, Saratoga Community Health Center, Saratoga Performing Arts Center, Saratoga Sponsor-A-Scholar, SNACpack program (Saratoga Nutrition Assistance for Children), Wellspring and The Wesley Foundation.
“It was only natural to align our annual ‘Make A Difference’ event with ‘Giving Tuesday’,” said Skip Carlson, vice president of external affairs at the Saratoga Casino Hotel, in a press release. “We are so lucky to have these organizations in our community and we are happy to provide support to them so that they can continue to make a difference every day for so many people. “
SNACpack Program Coordinator Karey Trimmings said in the statement, “We are honored and sincerely grateful to receive this very generous donation for SNACpack from the Saratoga Casino Hotel. The pandemic has created an increased need for children living with food insecurity, as well as increased food costs. We have been able to continue providing food throughout the past year and a half of COVID thanks to generous donations from our community, including past donations from the Casino. “
“For Jake’s Help From Heaven, receiving a Make A Difference grant from Saratoga Casino Hotel really makes a difference – especially now,” Heather Straughter, president of Jake’s Help From Heaven, said in the statement. “Over the past 20 months, our families’ need for support has increased dramatically, but our ability to raise funds has diminished. We are preparing for our last board meeting of 2021 and this grant will allow us to continue from a ‘yes’ when reviewing applications. The generosity of the Saratoga Casino Hotel truly makes a difference to so many people in our area and we are grateful for their support.
Over the past 16 years, the Saratoga Casino Hotel has donated over $ 3 million to various charitable groups in the Capital Region. The “Make a Difference” initiative which started in 2004 has since been its main charity event to honor and fund local non-profit organizations.
